Alright sports fans, here is a trip report of the über-famous Geil in Kail held annunally just 5 km down the road.
Entrance fee (incl. parking): 10 Euro
First song heard (Vampire): "Livin' on a Prayer"
Rough set list (Vampire): Ramstein, Green Day, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fettes Brot, Rage Aginst The Machine, usw.
I thought me and Ozz were the only Amis there, but it turns out "Killing in the Name of" by RATM fired up five drunken Amis to storm the stage and play King of the Hill. This resulted in a ft. long Mohawk punker getting tossed off the stage like a ragdoll.
After the Vamps slayed the crowd, on came GrandMaLightBand (couldn't make that up). They were pretty much a jam-band with a Rolling Stones fixation. Great tunes, but most people left after Vampire. As I came closer to the stage during "Brown Sugar" I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, too many Gerolsteiner Sprüdels had me seeing things. Surely enough, what I saw before me was a rare sight indeed: a Nordic Biker Krullet! This guy was straight out of Conan the Barbarian!
I can't grab the pics off of my handicam yet, but will post them as soon as I can. Only 17 more days til Pukkelpop!
J
