This blog post is in fact part of the problem that this article brings up. I've found that my ability and enthusiasm to read has been brought down to a creeping halt since spending more time at the computer over the years. I've actually downloaded eBooks and have never read them because my attention span is too short when I am on the computer. I still don't watch TV anywhere near what I used to, but I've filled that void by wasting time on the computer instead.
Back in the military I was moved into an engineering position where I sat in my chair and had to stare at a computer screen for hours on end. That helped to curb my computer time at home and I was able to read more. But still, there has to be a happy medium between lazy computer time and being productive.
